Who is the Best Arrowverse Hero? Oliver Queen, Alex Danvers, Cisco Ramon, Zari Tomaz (round 1)

Arrowverse

With many shows in the Arrowverse already at work for the new season, all of us at CarterMatt thought today would be a good time for us to bring you a fun new series! Through the next few weeks, we’re going to have a fun little tournament  for everyone all based around one simple question: Who is your favorite hero of 2019?

Let’s start by noting this — there are many different definitions of a hero within the Arrowverse. They don’t always need an alter ego or a comic-book costume in order to make their presence felt. What matters the most is that they are truly heroic and do whatever they can in order to make a good impression on the world around them. We’re going to be focusing on sixteen different characters throughout this series (four from Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow) and today, we’re kicking things off with Oliver Queen, Alex Danvers, Cisco Ramon, and Zari Tomaz. At the bottom of this article is a poll for you to vote for your favorite! Two will be moving on to the next round.

Voting Rules – Voting will remain open until Sunday, July 14 at 3:00 p.m. Pacific time; the advancing heroes will take part in round 2, which will begin on Wednesday, July 17. You can vote however often you’d like; for more technical information if you’re having issues, check out the bottom of this article.

Oliver Queen, Arrow – The hero that started it all. Without Oliver and Stephen Amell’s performance as the character, there would be no Arrowverse. There would be no opportunity to celebrate these shows and their value across the greater TV medium as we know it. Oliver as a character has dealt with his fair share of inner demons, but what we’ve seen from him time and time again is that he loves those around him and will do whatever he can to save his city.

Alex Danvers, Supergirl – She doesn’t have an alter ego on the same level of some of these other characters, but she does have more or less a costume — just something designed specifically for her within the DEO. She’s shown herself to be a tremendous force to be reckoned with out in the field, but to go along with that, one of her greatest heroic traits is her willingness to challenge authority and to be a leader for those who are struggling or are confused around her. She’s willing to be a voice and a champion and Chyler Leigh is incredible in this role.

Cisco Ramon, The Flash – Will he ever be Vibe again? There’s a legitimate reason to wonder that after what happened with the cure at the end of season 5, but regardless, his skills within the world of STAR Labs are unmatched. He’s also a welcome source for comic relief any time that he appears and he fits the mold perfectly of being an on screen representative for many of us fans out there. He gives everyone a different perspective when they do not otherwise have one.

Zari Tomaz, Legends of Tomorrow – We recognize that there’s a chance we may never see Zari again — or at least the Zari we remember. (Tala Ashe, meanwhile, will 100% be back for more.) What we love about this character in season 4 was how she found a way to be heroic in a number of different forms — whether it be with the Legends, with the Time Bureau, or even with herself. Did you ever imagine that the “hacktivist” we met in season 3 would turn into a vulnerable, heartfelt hero singing James Taylor in the finale?

Now, let’s turn this to you

Who is your favorite Arrowverse hero in this batch? Be sure to share in the comments, and come back soon for some more updates.

I can’t see the poll; what do I do? – If you are on mobile, scroll to the bottom of the page and click to view the non-AMP version. If that does not work, give the poll a moment to load! On some mobile browsers, it may take a moment.

How can I vote more than once? – If you are having trouble casting multiple votes, try switching your browser, your device, or visiting the page under private browsing or incognito mode. There should be many handy guides online explaining how to do so if interested.
