MacGyver season 4 filming starts tomorrow; get more insight
In a new post on Instagram, series star Justin Hires (otherwise known as Wilt Bozer) confirmed that filming on the latest batch of episodes begins tomorrow. That means that the Phoenix Foundation gang will be back to take on new missions and threats — if you loved the first three seasons, it’s hard to imagine that season 4 will be any less exceptional!
There are some changes coming in regards to MacGyver season 4. For starters, you are going to have a chance to see more of Levy Tran now as a series regular! The actress behind Desi Nguyen was promoted earlier this year after a great introduction over the past several weeks of season 3. Meanwhile, it has also been announced already that you are going to be seeing Henry Ian Cusick on board as a new character! His character of Russ has a military background, wealth, and a big personality. All signs suggest that we’re going to be seeing a different sort of character here than Kane on The 100 and then also Desmond Hume on Lost.
For the time being, the plan is for there to be thirteen episodes of MacGyver season 4 — but that plan could change. That is one of the reasons why filming is beginning so early. In case CBS changes their mind and orders more episodes, the production needs to do their part to prepare for that. They do face some behind-the-scenes challenges with this, given that the writers have to plan out an ending far in advance, while also being flexible enough to change it if the situation calls for it.
Throughout filming, let’s just hope that there are opportunities to get a few more updates on what is coming, whether it be from the realm of casting or some interesting story developments. We’d still love to see a full-on crossover between this show, Hawaii Five-0, and Magnum PI, but don’t want to get our hopes up all that much.
