Good Trouble season 2 episode 4 sneak peek: Mariana’s new problem
On this past episode, we saw Cierra Ramirez’s character struggle with dealing with testing her new app amidst a larger social gathering going on around her. Now, she’s dealing with her relationship with Raj possibly coming out. She’s done a good job of keeping it secret to date, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to say that way forever.
In the sneak peek below, you can see Mariana do whatever she can in order to have a conversation about the app, not knowing that someone is watching her and Raj from afar. At a certain point, Evan comes up as a subject and the question becomes whether or not he is helping her with an ulterior motive in mind. It’s true that Mariana does have Evan standing up for her, but is there a larger reason for it than what is immediately apparent?
One of the interesting undercurrents going on right now with this show is the relationship that exists between Mariana and her boss. It’s obviously complicated, and it’s hard to figure out exactly where the show is planning to go with that. A big part of the reason why is because Evan as a character is not always the easiest person to read. How he feels about Mariana could play some role with the future of her app, but we don’t want to undermine her skill. It never hurts to have someone who is in your corner cheering you on, and it may just be because Evan knows how good she is and how much potential she has. We don’t think that someone who has gotten the success that Evan has at this point in his life is going to operate solely on the basis of emotion. He’s looking at perceived results more than anything else.
In the short-term, Mariana just needs to make sure did nothing happens with the placement of her job, given that one small handhold can really change just about everything. Her and Raj do have a compelling story, but it’s one that couldn’t beat an unfortunate end. We’ve already discussed in other articles how work relationships aren’t exactly celebrated at than the world of Speckulate, so we can’t say we’re confident in anything right now.
