Are You the One? season 8 episode 3 video: Max’s struggle
In the video preview below for this coming episode, you can see Max struggle to figure out how to process the situation that he is in. He knows that Justin is interested in him but he can’t put into words what he wants from him. A part of this is due to him still working on being who he is at all times; he hasn’t been out as bisexual in his hometown in the same way that he is in Los Angeles and because of that, he doesn’t know what sort of person he is here. There are some people in the house that relate to his struggle but this is a safe environment for him. This is a place where he will be cared for and embraced if he is ready to let himself dive in. It has to be on his terms; that is a part of his acceptance. In time, maybe he will figure this one.
The synopsis below for Are You the One? season 8 episode 3 does tease that Justin is going to have another suitor, so that may complicate things a little bit further:
Justin is caught between someone who wants him and someone who doesn’t know what they want; Basit struggles for acceptance; the house faces some uncomfortable “truths.”
Even though we are two episodes into the season, there is still a long ways to go before anyone determines whether or not they’ve found their perfect match. They’ll be problems for almost everyone but we hope that there’s some good news that comes about by the time we make it to the end of the season. This is a show that’s doing some revolutionary stuff this go-around and we’d love nothing more than to see it lead to some successful relationships. Even if it doesn’t, if Are You the One? does cause some people to see the world differently, it’s absolutely still done its job. It will have reached people who may not have found that otherwise.
