Will NCIS season 17 tease Cote de Pablo return to set?

Ziva

Are we going to see a considerable amount of Cote de Pablo on the set of NCIS season 17? As of right now, it’s all up in the air — but CBS has options. Not only that, but they should embrace them to the heart’s content.

If you missed the report yesterday, cast member Maria Bello confirmed that the cast is due back on July 15. Unless the series films out of order (which does sometimes happen to accommodate schedules), it’s likely that Cote will be on set somewhere around that date. If she is only in the premiere episode, we foresee NCIS trying to take advantage of her presence as much as possible. That includes shooting copious amounts of footage and many behind-the-scenes teases featuring her. Cote herself is social-media shy — she doesn’t have any accounts on Twitter or Instagram. Yet, we could see her making an appearance or two on some of her fellow cast members’, or even the account of the show itself.

For some more discussion on NCIS and Ziva in video form, take a look at what we’ve got for you below! Once you do that, remember to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube and also view our official playlist. That’s the best way to ensure you don’t miss any other updates.

What sort of social content could NCIS film with Cote? We’d love to get a few videos just showing her having fun with the cast and crew — the sort of content that gets you excited for what’s going to be coming up next. The most important thing to remember is that with Ziva’s return already confirmed for the season 17 premiere, there is no reason to keep it a secret anymore. The show, all of a sudden, has the ability to be as flexible as they want to be with promotion.

The first step for NCIS should be bringing attention to Ziva’s return on social media. The next step should be highlighting her in the first promo when that comes out — which should be in either late August or early September. Do a full, extended trailer for the premiere in mid-September and then more press right before the premiere. What we’d love to see is for the premiere to be a ratings dynamo — even with “She” (an episode that didn’t even feature Cote’s character in the present), we saw it deliver some of the season’s best ratings because of smart, snappy promotion around the Super Bowl.
