The Flash season 6: Who’s the latest character coming on board?
According to a new report coming in from TVLine, the CW series is in the process of casting an African-American actor to be a “socially awkward, African-American genius in math and science.” The site notes that they could have some interactions with the STAR Labs team, but the extent of those interactions remains to be seen.
What we know entering season 6 is that The Flash is likely looking for a few different ways to change things up. They almost certainly realize that one of the biggest problems with season 5 was that there were characters who needed more screen time and opportunities to shine. Maybe this character is a better bridge to making that happen.
So what do we want to see from this character? Mostly, a character that is different than Curtis Holt of Arrow. The descriptions from the two characters on paper are relatively simple. What’s going to make them separate will likely come from what we see with the individual performances and choices. Odds are, you’re going to learn some more information about the story of season 6 in the weeks ahead, with the big reveal coming for San Diego Comic-Con. There’s no reason for producers to want to give away the game too long before then!
If we’re getting into specifics here as to what we want, a lot of it starts with getting a chance to see Cisco on the show again! There were questions aplenty following the season finale when it comes to his future. Beyond that, maybe it is time that we get to see some new love interests for some other characters, as well. Think along the lines of Caitlin, as it’s been a while since she had one. Can we also see Sue come into play in some shape or form? There’s some evidence that it could be coming.
The Flash season 6 is going to premiere on The CW at some point in October.
