Finding an abundance of Poldark season 5 spoilers is hard to come by, and for good reason. With the series arriving on BBC One next month, the cast is tight-lipped on the finer details. A part of what makes the story so great is experiencing it, and the experience this time around is more special than ever before. It’s not so much a direct adaptation of the source material; it’s set between stories in the Winston Graham novels. The challenge that executive producer Debbie Horsfield and the rest of the creative team faced was this: Do we tell a fitting end to the story in the best way we can, or do we apply age makeup to everyone for five hours a day during production? They chose the former.
In the video below (via BBC Radio Cornwall), you have Eleanor Tomlinson, Jack Farthing, and more cast members setting the table for what’s going to be a buffet of goodies when Poldark season 5 premieres. There are no major spoilers; yet, you learn in here about a new character who could be trouble, plus also the jam-packed nature of the storytelling this time around. Because this is the final season — save for some sort of miracle announcement later — Horsfield wants to ensure that the story builds towards something big. There should be conversations after Poldark ends and if that doesn’t happen, it’s a letdown. It’s as simple as that.
You can sense, just from the look on the cast’s faces, that they’re sending off the series in a happy way. Were there emotional moments? There had to be, but they may have happened as production wrapped. That is the end of their experience more so than an episode airing on television. They spent months of their lives in period costumes, working with one another to ensure that the quality of season 5 is top-notch. They’ve seen these worlds and felt what these people have felt.

Where is Aidan Turner?
Turner, alas, was unable to attend the Poldark premiere event in Cornwall, and he made his preseason promotional appearance at a BFI event instead. We’re sure that this is not the last time we hear from Aidan regarding the role of Ross Poldark; since he is not actively on social media, he tends to be a little more publicity-shy than some others in the business.
Expect a whirlwind of drama when Poldark premieres. Ross’ relationship with Demelza (Tomlinson) will still be the series’ beating heart, but around it will be complicated with politics and George (Farthing) who may turn his grief into rage. See more of what he had to say on that subject over here.
