The 100 season 6 episode 8 video; Inside the Kane debate

The 100 season 6

Tonight on The 100 season 6 episode 8, you’re getting a story in “The Old Man and the Anomaly” that is filled with ethical questions. The primary one is this: How far will you want to go in order to save someone you love? Are you willing to ethical cross lines or even make that person suffer?

This is the struggle that Raven and others can be dealing with in regards to Kane, as they face a big decision — is there a way to let him live, only for it to be within the body of another? This is something that we’ve experienced so far this season in a different sort of way with Clarke/Josephine. With Josephine taking over Clarke, she’s had an opportunity to live. Yet, in doing so, she’s also reduced Clarke’s ability to have any sovereignty over her own mind. There have been questions aplenty as to how to get her back full-time — we still think that Clarke’s has a role in this world, but the writers are being patient in seeing this story through.

The video that CarterMatt has for you below features show executive producer Jason Rothenberg and producer/writer Miranda Kwok talking about this episode and the decisions that some of these key characters are facing. It goes beyond simple life and death, since it’s about allowing someone to live by potentially, suppressing another soul. It’s a desperate story in that way, but this episode should offer up some answers — in addition to some about the very title itself. There’s a search going on within this story, and we have to believe that eventually, they will find what they are looking for.

There’s also another question that we cannot help but wonder: Is Henry Ian Cusick leaving this show? We know that The 100 doesn’t exactly have the most stable cast in the world, as we’ve seen plenty of regular and recurring cast members either leave or be killed off. This is a dangerous world and dangerous things happen to people within it; we’re honestly surprised that The 100 managed to even hold on to Cusick as long as they have given his resume — who doesn’t want to have him on their own show? We feel like his fate as a part of this ensemble will become clear sooner rather than later — if not in this episode, then at some other point down the road.
