Dark season 3 premiere date hopes: When will it return to Netflix?
Let’s just start with the news that Dark season 3 is absolutely going to be happening. We know with a lot of Netflix shows these days it’s hard to have a lot of confidence that anything will be back for another batch of episodes. Just ask fans of Santa Clarita Diet, Daredevil, Iron Fist, or a number of different theories we’ve seen over time.
Ultimately, the news regarding Dark is a little bit bittersweet. The international series is coming back for a third season, but it is officially going to be the final one. That’s a hard thing to really settle on, but it’s something that does make a certain degree of sense. This is a streaming service that is slowly working their way more and more into international programming, and there are some things that need to be figured out with distribution and gauging stateside popularity. Beyond just that, not all stories are meant to last an extremely long of time. You can blame Netflix trending shows early, or you could just say that they like to pick up shows that tend to have a natural beginning, middle, and end. This may just be something that they prefer when it comes to how they run a lot of their programming. (As a matter of fact, executive producer Baran bo Odar confirmed via Instagram that there was always a plan for the show to last three seasons.)
So when could Dark season 3 premiere? At the moment, the fairest guess is at some point within the next calendar year. (That’s something that Baran also confirmed in his post.) It’s not going to come about too fast. They’re going to take their time in order to make sure but the story is absolutely what they want it to be.
Also, maybe that wait over the next year or so will give more people an opportunity to catch up. Like we said, there are a lot of people out there who still don’t really know anything about this show. This gives them a chance to check it out, and it gives them a chance to maybe tell with some of their friends as well.
