‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: Kit Harrington talks Mance Rayder

This weekend is New York Comic-Con, and while Kit Harrington is in attendance at the event by and large in order to promote the upcoming film “Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.” However, this of course did not mean that he was able to completely sidestep any and all questions pertaining to the show that he also appears on in HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”

So what did the man behind Jon Snow have to say about working with “Rome” star Cirian Hinds as King Beyond the Wall Mance Rayder? Speaking to Spinoff Online at the event, Harrington started things off by pouring on the praise for a man who is sure to bring a pretty incredible performance in a role that most diehard fans of the show have been waiting to see on the small screen for some time:

“Ciarán Hinds is one of the most lovely men you will ever meet, and also one of the most fantastically fantastic actors.  I’m so privileged with the people I’ve worked with, the other older actors I’ve worked with, and he’s now another addition to that list that I can say I’ve worked with. It was fantastic.”

Harrington also said that former “Deadwood” star Ian McShane was the first person that entered his head for the part, but he is more than thrilled for the opportunity to work with someone of Hinds’ caliber. The two parties have already done some shooting in Northern Ireland, but the work here is still far from done. As we reported, “Game of Thrones” will kick off their shooting in Iceland next month, where they will battle what is sure to be difficult weather and short days for several weeks in order to get some of the pristine footage that we have come to expect.

Are you excited to see Mance on the small screen?
