Poldark season 5: Another Aidan Turner peek behind the scenes

Poldark

Another day, and another day closer to Poldark season 5 premiere. Here’s another way to look at it — another day closer until the BBC announces when this show is finally coming out with some more new episodes. We’ve been forced to wait for almost a year already (at least if you’re a UK viewer), and hopefully, you won’t be waiting too much longer.

If you want some other Poldark video coverage, take a look at what we’ve got at the bottom of this article! Be sure to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube! We have all sorts of daily TV video coverage there that you don’t want to miss.

When do we think it will premiere? Probably either later this month or early next. We know that there’s another screening coming up in Cornwall soon and the show’s not going to premiere until after it airs there. Otherwise, there would be less of a special sheen around the screening — even though we’re aware that there are some cast members in attendance. We don’t want to start posting specific dates here in fear of getting anyone’s hopes up, but we have a sense that you won’t be waiting too much longer. The ball is really in the BBC’s court in order to figure out the right time to launch it.

While waiting for that time to come, why not check out the latest behind-the-scenes tease? If you look below courtesy of the show’s official Twitter, you can see a look at Aidan Turner doing ADR (recording of lines after the fact) for the final season. Judging from the size of his beard, the photo appears to be fairly recent. Season 5 marks a farewell for all of us as viewers, but it’s also a farewell for some of the cast. They’ve devoted the majority of their past several years to making this show an enormous success, and that includes long hours and being out on location in Cornwall.

We think that for every actor on this show, they’re looking at this home stretch as a curtain call. We know that technically, the cast is leaving Poldark with some material left on the table. There is more of the Winston Graham story that they could go back and do eventually, but that’s not something worth focusing on too much at this moment. Let’s enjoy what is directly in front of us and then approach that subject more on the other side. Given how much the characters are aged up in the final books of the series, Turner and the rest of the cast can come back in many years to continue on the story if they want.
