‘Two and a Half Men’ season 10 spoilers: Miley Cyrus brings the laughs (video)

Who knew that Miley Cyrus would be able to play a hyperactive Southern belle so effectively? For the first time really since her days on “Hannah Montana,” the singer is going to be returning to her sitcom roots Thursday on “Two and a Half Men,” and her role is designed to be a rude awakening to Walden Schmidt that he is not nearly as young as he may think he is.

In case you have not heard any of our scoop already about this part, Miley is going to be playing the role of Missi on this show, a young woman who happens to be the daughter of one of Walden’s friends. At first, she is going to get a little close to Ashton Kutcher’s character thanks to her youthful energy and sense of fun; however, he is going to be rather quick to realize instead that this young woman may actually be a better fit for Alan’s son Jake.

Even though you don’t see Angus T. Jones’ character in the video below (via “Entertainment Tonight”), you do get a sense of what Missi is like with her rapid-fire dialogue, including that her name is actually short for Mississippi (the river, not the state!), and that Walden’s house is the sort that famous people should really be living in. Overall, the actress is going to be making two appearances on the show over the fall season, and we are assuming that the door could be left open for more beyond that given how much Cyrus and executive producer Chuck Lorre end up liking what she brings to the role.

What do you think about Miley’s performance and her character so far?
