Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 2 video: Strand, Salazar reunite

Fear the Walking Dead season 3 episode 11 review

Entering Fear the Walking Dead season 5 episode 2 on AMC tomorrow night, there is one moment worth watching for more than any other. This is a chance to see Victor Strand and Daniel Salazar back in the same place again! These two have a checkered history, and we’re sure that Daniel is fairly high on the list of people Strand would hope to never see again.

Yet, here he is recognizing that Salazar is one of the few people out there who can really help him and with that in mind, he’s heading off in order to see him after watching Althea’s tape last week. How Daniel manages to continually be important to the rest of the group is a good question, but nonetheless here we are.

What’s so interesting about where Daniel Salazar is at the moment is that he’s located in what appears to be an abandoned small town. It’s the sort of community that you don’t see all that often on Fear the Walking Dead. It is a place that certainly seems perfect for Daniel, given that it’s not the sort of place most people would expect to see him.

As you would imagine, this was not all that happy a reunion. Salazar pulls a gun on him shortly after his arrival — yet, at the same time, he doesn’t kill him. He (and apparently, his cat) invite him inside to have a conversation. Daniel has built some insulation for himself from the zombies outside, and it doesn’t necessarily appear as though he’s got a heck of a lot of friends around. We don’t really see anyone out there other than himself.

We love Daniel as a pot-stirrer within The Walking Dead universe and with that, we’re glad that he’s back. He’s also basically the show’s ultimate cockroach given that somehow, someway, the dude almost constantly finds a way to survive even when it doesn’t seem as though there is any possible way that he can do so. A big part of the fun coming up now is going to be seeing if he can continue to sort of walk the line morally and be that character who people want to work with, but also not trust whether or not they really can. Victor needs him, but will he be willing to do something, in turn, for Daniel if the situation calls on it? That’s something we’re going to have to figure out when the episode actually airs.

For the record, we’ll be back to chat all about that when the latest Fear the Walking Dead episode airs.
