Dynasty season 3 premiere date hopes for Elizabeth Gillies, cast

Dynasty

Following tonight’s Dynasty season 2 finale, we’re sure that there’s going to be anxiety over season 3 in a matter of minutes. Yet, that’s probably just going to be due to whatever sort of cliffhanger that the series throws at you — not so much in terms of whether or not we’re getting another batch of episodes.

Earlier this year, The CW made the Dynasty season 3 renewal official and with that, gave everyone who loves this show a chance to breathe a rather-giant sigh of relief. The ultimate reality here is that another season of this series was far from assured, and for a number of different reasons. Take, for example, the show’s ratings, which have never been altogether good, and neither has been the overall promotion. Dynasty just isn’t a show that is discussed all that much within most mainstream circles — yet, it’s still out there, and there’s still another batch of episodes coming your way.

There are, fundamentally, two different reasons why The CW picked up Dynasty for more.

1. Its studio connection – The CW as a network likes to have a healthy balance of shows from the two studios who own it — CBS and Warner Bros. TV. The majority of the network’s bigger hits, whether it be Supernatural, Riverdale, and the entirety of the Arrowverse, come via Warner Bros. TV. Meanwhile, some of the popular CBS-produced series, including Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, are coming to a close. Dynasty keeps that studio connection intact.

2. International performance – Because of a rich streaming deal, Dynasty is able to bring in a solid international audience — thanks to it being a new version of a classic show, it does also have along the way a great deal of name recognition. Some of that certainly goes a long way towards at least getting viewers’ foot in the door.

Remember that the best way to keep the show around is always to watch the series live.

As for when Dynasty season 3 is going to air…

Think along the lines of October — the time in which the majority of The CW’s shows have a tendency to come on the air. This is just the best time to launch, after some of the other major networks have aired their premieres and they are over and done with. Fundamentally, it gives them a good chance to air the season with fewer repeats throughout.

The CW will likely announce more of a firm premiere date over the summer, but know this in advance — Dynasty will be pushed back an hour, and is going to be paired up this time around with Charmed, which aired on Sunday nights through this past season. That’s another CBS-produced show, and one that has a similar sort of name recognition overseas. While one is certainly more supernatural than the other, both certainly have their fair share of dramatic twists and turns.
