American Housewife season 4 premiere date hopes for ABC series
Beyond that, consider this, first and foremost, your reminder that there will be a season 4 of the comedy. This is news that was first confirmed a little bit earlier this month, not that there was really all that much of a reason for concern. This show’s been a solid entry for ABC from the start, mostly because of its relatability and broad appeal. This network’s figured out, perhaps more than any other, how to figure out a way to tell stories that the whole family can get into. It’s one of the reasons why they are able to program a whopping five hours of comedy-related programming over the course of a single week.
So what’s going to happen when it comes to American Housewife season 4? Let’s start things off here by noting a change in timeslot. The show is moving to Friday nights, where it will be airing at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. In some ways, that’s concerning — Friday nights can be at times a wasteland for shows, and where they get canceled shortly after being moved there.
Yet, we do think that American Housewife does have a chance to flourish here. For starters, there isn’t much in the way of competition out there! Last Man Standing is moving off of its previous timeslot over at Fox, so that is something that ABC doesn’t need to worry about anymore. The one-two punch of this show and also Fresh Off the Boat can air without a lot of similar competition and do rather well in turn.
We do think that there’s going to be a good chance at a season 5, though it is hard to put a vote of confidence out there without seeing any of the numbers first. We think that if the show is going to be renewed for another season, it probably needs to garner at least 75% or so of the numbers that it got from this current third season.
As for what the story should be…
More than anything, we just think that American Housewife needs to be big, bold, and funny. Keeping trying risky things, big musical moments, and opportunities to celebrate life at its most colorful and funny. This is a show that manages to punish the traditional comedy boundaries just enough to where it feels different, but no so far that it is unrecognizable. It’s done a great job getting itself to this point, but we’ll have to see what the future holds over the course of the next several months.
Be prepared for American Housewife season 4 to get a formal premiere date at some point in the summer. There’s no real reason for the network to hurry and announce something beforehand.
