Hawaii Five-0 season 10 premiere date hopes for Alex O’Loughlin, cast

Hawaii Five-0

Following tonight’s finale, we’ve got a good feeling that there’s going to be a lot of enthusiasm when it comes to Hawaii Five-0 season 10. How can there not be, given that there is so much discussion already about a cliffhanger? All current indications seem to suggest that you’ll be eagerly rocking back and forth throughout the summer waiting for new episodes — we just wish there was a way to get them to you sooner.

The good news is that there is of course a season 10, and we know that if executive producer Peter M. Lenkov has it his way, there may very well be a season 11 after that. He’s eager to continue the series for some time, but the ball will be in CBS’ court on that. For now, the objective here seems to be trying to just make each individual season as great as humanly possible. For now, enjoy season 10 (if you can get over the cliffhanger, anyway), and we’ll see if the network wants more after that.

So when is it premiering? Most likely late September, and in a slightly different timeslot: Fridays at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. CBS is going to use Five-0 now as a launching pad for some of their other series, including a relocated Magnum PI. (If you didn’t know, MacGyver is being held back at the moment until midseason.) We anticipate the episode order being somewhere between 22-25 episodes once more (hopefully the latter), and us having a chance to see some great cases — but, perhaps more than that, some great spotlights on the characters.

What Hawaii Five-0 seems to have right that so many other shows have wrong is its focus — it is about the people wearing the badges more so than the badges itself, and the relationships that they have with each other. A lot of times, the entertainment value does stem from some of the funnier moments — take, for example, getting a chance to see McGarrett and Danny argue or Junior and Tani going undercover in ridiculous ways. Then, you have the serious, powerful moments — take what happened to Joe, or seeing Junior forgive the man responsible for killing his sister. Because we see so many degrees of these people, they all feel a little bit more real. There’s an added layer of depth here and that makes the series all the more unpredictable.

One of the first orders of business in season 10 is going to be obviously bringing you to the other side of the cliffhanger. From there, maybe the show can reset itself — at least to a certain extent.

Season 10 of Hawaii Five-0 is going to be filming starting this summer, and we’re of course looking forward already to everything that this brings — think in terms of fantastic cast sightings, casting scoop, and also general ideas about what may transpire in certain stories.
