Lucifer season 4 teaser: Check out the devil’s new look!

Lucifer

As we prepare for Lucifer season 4 to premiere on Netflix Wednesday night, here’s another reason to be fired up.

If you look at the video below, you can see a small tease of what the new-look devil is going to look like — and it’s gloriously dark. It’s maybe a little bit on the scary side, but not so terrifying you don’t want to look at it. The scales! The wings! It’s a new transformation of the devil that will clearly, be so much more than a face.

This new-look Lucifer Morningstar does coincide rather well with some of the buzz that is out there leading into the new season, including that we will see an iteration of Lucifer that is a tad darker and more intense than what we’ve seen before. A part of that may just be creative-based after the twists to close out season 3. However, another part of it may just Netflix allowing them to run even wilder than they ever have before. Being on the streaming provider comes with many benefits, and one of the biggest ones is the opportunity to dive in and take a lot of big, creative swings. This is a chance to really take advantage of a cool opportunity and we got a good feeling that we’ll see that very thing happen.

When could we see this version of Lucifer in action?

We like to think that it will happen when, naturally, the character is feeling most devilish. Therefore, the easy prediction to make is that once Eve surfaces on the coming season and Lucifer starts to spend a good bit of time with her, we will start to really see him take a turn for the wicked. This feels like the perfect thing to show off further around the halfway point of the season — right when you’re starting to think you have a good idea as to where things are going, you throw another curveball at viewers and you expect them to find a way to handle that.

Of course, here’s the big conflict with seeing Lucifer at his darkest — it doesn’t exactly make him the most appealing person in the world for Chloe Decker. We do want those two together, but we’ll embrace some of the craziness and darkness of Lucifer this season along the way. Wednesday cannot get here soon enough…
