Dynasty season 2 episode 19 preview: ‘This Illness of Mine’ + Blake drama

Dynasty

As we enter Dynasty season 2 episode 19 next week on The CW, don’t you think that the table has been clearly set for this show to do ANYTHING? We don’t think that the writers really needed to pull some sort of prove-yourselves flex like casting Elizabeth Gillies to play Alexis, but here we are. That’s yet another sign that this is a show just leaning in hard to its soap-opera roots. Maybe it is TOO much for some people and it stretches the bounds of believability, but from an entertainment standpoint we’re doing with this show’s brand of crazy. It’s hard not to be, knowing that there is likely still to be more crazy over the weeks to come.

There are four episodes left this season, and next week’s “This Illness of Mine” seems to be intent on giving you major milestones and then also major opportunities to see things for some characters go careening off of a cliff. There’s a plan in order in order to take Blake down a peg, which seems to be running concurrently with some dastardly plans that Blake’s got. In true Dynasty fashion, Blake is a character who could see his role change dramatically over this one episode. By the end of it, he could really be at either his highest high or lowest low. It really just comes down to whatever the writers want to do with him.

For a little more insight all about what’s coming, we just suggest that you check out the full Dynasty season 2 episode 19 synopsis below:

BAD BLOOD – As Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) prepares for the launch of Liam’s (Adam Huber) book, Liam’s mother (guest star Sharon Lawrence) returns to Atlanta with a shocking announcement that could derail Fallon’s plans with Liam. While Blake (Grant Show) and Cristal (Ana Brenda Contreras) partner up to pursue a nefarious new scheme, Jeff (Sam Adegoke) and Culhane (Robert Christopher Riley) get closer to exposing Blake for his illicit activities. Maddison Brown and Alan Dale also star. The episode written by Jay Gibson and Francisca X. Hu, was directed by Matt Earl Beesley (#219). Original airdate 5/3/2019.

Within this episode, our expectation is that things will be VERY different at the end of it from where they started, and we’re probably going to end up seeing Fallon and Liam hitting yet another roadblock. These two never really seem to get an opportunity to find stability. It feels like as soon as they start to sense things moving in the right direction, something comes along to ruin it … and we’re probably going to see a whole lot more craziness moving forward from here. A lot can happen in just the span of three episodes.
