Grey’s Anatomy season 15 finale spoilers: How crazy will it be?

Grey’s Anatomy finales at this point certainly have a reputation — think along the lines of them leaving their viewers in varying states of hysterics. They’ve killed people off, featured enormous heartbreak, and also occasionally given ‘shippers reasons to celebrate. This show pulls out ALL of the stops in its final episodes, and we feel reasonably confident that this season isn’t going to be any different.

So what sort of stuff can you expect to see this time around? Well, there are going to be some moments in here that feel perfectly in line with the Grey’s Anatomy finale tradition … but then also some that may actually make you smile. (Whether or not you’re still smiling by the end of the finale is certainly a mystery.) In speaking on this subject further in a new interview with TVLine, here is some of what Caterina Scorsone (Amelia) had to say:

“It is definitely a fall-down-and-explode kind of episode … But like the rest of the season, it has more humor and lightness than some previous finales. Tonally, it’s still really fun.”

There’s a good reason why Scorsone herself would say this, given that much of the story that is coming specifically for her character Amelia seems like it’s going to be of the fun persuasion:

“What’s going on with Amelia is almost out of a romantic comedy or just some sort of farce. It’s ridiculous … And there are a couple of teases for next season that, even at the read-through, we were like, ‘What?!?’ I don’t know if they’ll make it into the final cut, but definitely, there were some hilarious teases.”

So maybe Amelia is happy, but everyone else ends up sad — or, at least people not named either Owen or Link. It’s certainly possible that Owen ends this season inevitably inching closer to Teddy, but we won’t be shocked if he gravitates more towards his ex-wife and tries to make something happen there. The thing is that Owen has been SO indecisive for so long that even therapy isn’t going to completely cure him of anything, at least not yet. That’s probably still going to linger for him in some shape or form for at least a little while.

If you think about it, there’s a very high chance that Owen is going to infuriate someone by the end of this season. One possibility is that he sparks some drama with Koracick over some of his feelings for Teddy; or, he causes some problems with Link. There are no universal winners here, though there could be some happy viewers if you find yourself of the persuasion where you enjoy this sort of drama.
