Blue Bloods season 9 finale spoilers: New photo + who’s returning?

Blue Bloods season 9

Who’s ready for another dose of Blue Bloods season 9 and the upcoming May 10 finale? Does the photo above suffice? If not, we do have some other news that could also rev up your engine a little bit!

CBS today finally unveiled their official press release for “Something Blue” and within that, shared a couple of pieces of new information. Let’s start with the official synopsis — much of this is info that you’ve seen before, but maybe not in this specific form:

“Something Blue” – As Jamie and Eddie’s wedding day approaches, Frank worries about the toast he’ll deliver at their rehearsal dinner. Also, Erin interviews a witness whose story leads her to doubt Eddie’s honesty, since she took his initial statement, and Danny and Baez unravel the complicated love life of a young homicide victim, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, May 10 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Now, let’s also bring to you some other happy news in terms of the guest cast: Tony Terraciano is coming back as Jack Reagan! He’s been gone for a big chunk of the season as the character went off to school, but apparently, he found a way to get back for this last episode. Most of the other recurring players are a little more expected — you’ll get a chance to see a lot of Frank’s team, but then also Eddie’s new partner Whitten and then also Christine Ebersole as her mother Lena. Clearly, there are a lot of people who are going to be a part of this episode and that makes sense — it’s a celebration of all things Jamie and Eddie, and it’s also a perfect sort of culmination to the entirety of the journey that we’ve been on since the end of last season when the proposal happened.

Obviously, there is going to be more that happens within this episode beyond just the wedding, but that shouldn’t surprise anyone at this point. The one thing that surprises us is that Frank, Mr. Confident Commissioner of New York City, is suddenly afraid about what he’s going to say at the wedding. Isn’t there something a little bit adorable that comes from that? It’s certainly not the sort of thing that we really anticipated seeing coming into this episode, since we thought he’d just be so confident and he’d go up and do his thing.

We’re sure that there’s going to be a lot of romance within this episode, but hopefully, a number of other emotions packed in every step of the way. We’re wanting it to be heartfelt, sweet, and above all else, memorable. That should be an episode that remains very much in our mind for quite some time to come while we wait for season 10!
