Blue Bloods season 9 finale spoilers: ‘Something Blue’ & the wedding!

Blue Bloods season 9

The Blue Bloods season 9 finale is coming your way on Friday, May 10, and obviously this one is HUGE. “Something Blue” is the long-awaited wedding between Jamie and Eddie! These one-time police partners are getting hitched after a wonderful journey that has shared with us all of the highs and lows, but obviously not everything with this wedding is going to go according to plan. It’d be FAR too easy if that happened, and also far and away different from what actually happens in terms of TV weddings (or even real weddings).

We obviously are going to have a chance to see Vanessa Ray and Will Estes’ characters tie the knot within this episode, but there are some other stories that are happening for some other characters. Think in terms of yet another complex case for Danny and Baez to unravel, and also a situation that Erin finds herself in where she starts to doubt Eddie — and right before the wedding! In real life these difficult conversations do come up in all kinds of unusual ways and at bad times (remind us to tell you some day about our bachelor party and a drunken talk we never wanted to have), so it’s not too unusual that it’s happening. Instead what’s unusual is the reason it’s coming up.

Check out the official Blue Bloods season 9 finale details now below for more:

As Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie’s (Vanessa Ray) wedding day approaches in “Something Blue,” Erin (Bridget Moynahan) interviews a witness whose story leads her to doubt Eddie’s honesty.

Plus, Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) unravel the complicated love life of a young man who was murdered, and Frank (Tom Selleck) squabbles with his top brass while worrying about the toast he’ll deliver at Jamie and Eddie’s rehearsal dinner.

Christine Ebersole returns as Eddie’s mom, Lena Janko.

Let’s rejoice that Eddie’s mother is coming back for the finale! We assumed that she would, and it certainly makes sense that Eddie would at least have someone familiar present there at the ceremony that could be otherwise dominated by the Reagans.

Will there be a cliffhanger?

There’s nothing within these details that suggests that there will be, and honestly we’d be surprised if that happens. This is not that sort of show! We don’t envision the Blue Bloods writers room as a place where they are scratching their chins and trying to figure out how to infuriate viewers. It’s a show more about feelings than it is jaw-droppers, and we think that within the closing minutes, the team will try to find a way to enforce thoughts of family, love, and caring for each other more so than trying to make you upset about being left in the dark about something moving into season 10.
