Big Brother Canada 7 spoilers: What does the Blood Veto twist do?

Big Brother Canada 7

Tonight, Big Brother Canada 7 finally gave us a chance to learn the truth about the Blood Veto — the big power at the heart of the season. This is something that could change EVERYTHING … at least provided that Kyra actually does something with it.

Here’s some cool news regardless — tonight is the final eviction before the jury! This means that we’ll see the game change in a big way next week.

Let’s get to the big news as the heart of this episode — the Blood Veto grants Kyra the power to actually Veto the eviction vote. What that means is that if Kyra is unhappy with the result of the vote, they can then send the other person packing. This means that they could send home Mark even if all of the house wants out Kiera instead. This, insofar as a much-hyped power goes, is actually kind of weak. If almost all of the house wants one person out, then trying to keep the other person is pretty stupid. There’s less of a reason for Kyra to want to do that.

Here’s what would have made the Blood Veto more compelling in our mind — if it actually allowed the holder to stop an eviction, and then allow the holder to nominate someone else instead for a re-vote. That would create more chaos and let someone like Kyra get rid of an actual target like Dane.

Let’s say this to Kyra — stop it with the “biggest power in Big Brother Canada history.” This isn’t as big as the Have-Not room power that led to Bruno’s eviction in season 3. Kyra didn’t even end up using it! Because of this, Kiera did end up leaving the game — but not before throwing some serious shade at Dane within the house. While this was all pretty entertaining, we don’t actually think that she was necessarily targeting the right person. This was more Sam, Adam, and Anthony’s doing more so than it was Dane. Dane’s just an easier fall guy because he’s someone who has been caught in some lies already.

We’ll miss Kiki in some ways this season, but it’s also kind of frustrating since she doesn’t have really anyone to blame but herself — same with a lot of other players this season. They had at least enough warning that some of the guys were working together and there just wasn’t enough killer instinct to try and stop it.
