SEAL Team season 2 episode 17, airing on CBS come April 10, is going to produce a fairly-familiar effect. How else do you describe at this point an episode that leaves a major character in jeopardy? Think about how many times we’ve had this through the past season and a half, most recently with Sonny after what he went through earlier this year. He survived, so this is the point where you have to cross your fingers and hope that the same will end up also being true here.
Yet, there are no guarantees; we’ve watched TV long enough over time to realize that having a whole lot of hope for every character’s future is not always the best move.
One thing we should also note about SEAL Team season 2 episode 17, and for the most part a run of upcoming episodes, is that they will be linked. Episode 16 is going to kick off a run of episodes set around the Philippines, with that continuing into at least a couple of hours in the weeks ahead. The episode 17 synopsis below indicates just why Bravo Team could be sticking around for a little while:
“Paradise Lost” – While Bravo Team is deployed to train Filipino SEALs, a surprise bomb attack in Manila leaves them in peril, Wednesday, April 10 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
The idea of a surprise bomber causing chaos mostly makes us wonder this: Who would do this? Why would someone cause some chaos around people being trained to help this very country? It could be a rogue militant group, or an international terrorist seeking out ways to hurt the country’s ability to eradicate threats. No matter, this sort of attack will likely fill Bravo Team’s drive for justice — and maybe even revenge, depending on what happens to the person in peril. Why they may have a certain sense of honor and duty that comes from being a SEAL, we don’t want to forget in the process that these people are still humans and with that in mind, they have the same range of emotions you would expect. Think in terms of anger, frustration, and maybe even shock that some of this happened in the first place.
So who are we the most worried about entering this episode? Basically, everyone other than Sonny. We just think after putting that guy through what he did, the show’s probably going to want to navigate in a slightly different direction. You can’t continue to almost kill the same character off time and time again … unless they actually do kill him off this time, which we don’t think will make many fans out there altogether happy.
