SEAL Team season 2 episode 15 preview: Fight against the financier

SEAL Team

SEAL Team season 2 episode 15 will air next week — no more hiatuses here! We’re likely getting a straight shot of episodes from here to the finale, and that means non-stop action, character drama, and a few tears likely sprinkled in outside of the missions. That’s where the show’s gooey emotional core lies — if you didn’t get that personal side of the coin, you wouldn’t get a real sense of what it’s like being in some of these characters’ skin. You gotta experience the rise-and-fall feeling that comes with taking on the stress of the job and the stress of constant readjustment to the other side of their lives.

So what is actually coming on the next new episode, which carries with it the title of “You Only Die One”? CarterMatt offers up the official synopsis below, one that tells you a think or two about a new adversary who is quite different than some of the others we’ve seen as of late:

“You Only Die Once” – Bravo Team sets out on a special ops mission to take down the financier and mastermind behind several terrorist attacks, on SEAL TEAM, Wednesday, March 27 (10:01-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

So what sort of threat is this financier, precisely? There are some who fight with clubs and guns, and then others who fight with a keyboard and wads of cash. This adversary seems more like the former than the latter — someone who can cause chaos and topple governments with a few simple pen-strokes on his check. The trouble for Jason Hayes and the remainder of the team in this episode is finding a way to overtake such a fun. He may be an intellectual warrior rather than a physical one, but you better believe that he’s probably surrounding by physical warriors — a.k.a. bad people with guns. This is about finding the head of the snake and then plucking its head right off — possibly metaphorically, but the point still stands.

While “You Only Die Once” may be yet another mission in a sea of them, it could also be a mission about recovery. Take Sonny, who we still feel is dealing with a bit of blowback in the aftermath of what he went through understand. Jason, meanwhile, is still trying to get his bearings and better understand his real normal. That’s without even getting into those who are left behind once the mission is complete. Even though Bravo Team may be able to extract a disease, there are still aftereffects. There is no panacea to cure a reason infected and desecrated by corruption. Consider this almost the military version of aftercare.
