Grey’s Anatomy season 15 episode 18 spoilers: Owen, Koracick drama far from over

Grey's Anatomy season 14

Grey’s Anatomy season 15 episode 18 is not coming up on ABC until a little bit later in the month; yet, all indications suggest that it will be echoing some familiar themes recently explored on the show this season.

Remember the battle between Koracick and Owen? Odds are you do since it literally just unfolded on this past episode of the show. Owen seems to have convinced himself that Tom is not a good person, that he took advantage of Amelia at a vulnerable time, and that he will be a terrible father figure to his and Teddy’s baby. We see Owen as just trying to find a reason in which to hate Koracick, largely out of jealousy. It doesn’t necessarily have to be jealousy over the relationship that he has with Teddy; instead, it may just be jealousy over the relationship itself. It could be seeing where he and Amelia are and seeing happiness permeate through someone close to him. It’s a feeling that he chases, but not a feeling that he necessarily knows how to replicate. That is one of the reasons why he always seems to find himself in this position — he chases something, only to completely cave in on himself when things don’t turn out the way in which he envisioned.

If you want more on the state of things with Owen, check out our video reaction for Thursday night’s past episode below! Also, remember to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube for additional news and be sure to check out our official Grey’s Anatomy playlist.

We don’t want to get too hung up on just Owen, though, as there are many different important stories and threads you will see throughout this episode. Below (via SpoilerTV), CarterMatt has the official Grey’s Anatomy season 15 episode 18 synopsis:

Maggie introduces mood rooms as an alternative approach to medicine; Alex and DeLuca butt heads over an 11-year-old patient who tries to sabotage her own surgery; Teddy has a pregnancy scare that brings Owen and Koracick to odds.

Through reading this, you can probably develop more of an understanding as to why we are putting our specific focus where we are; Owen and Koracick’s rivalry is one of the most interesting things that Grey’s Anatomy has going. Any potential rivalry between Alex and DeLuca is probably going to surface on Thursday’s episode, which you can read more about over here. It hasn’t quite surfaced yet, but we have placed some speculation on that subject out into the universe already — it is only human for DeLuca to have insecurity over Alex’s friendship with Meredith. Jo was in this same position in the past, and maybe Andrew unconsciously sees Alex as a rival even though he isn’t. Grey’s Anatomy already explored any possible feelings Meredith may have for Alex and that seems to be firmly in the past at this point. It’s just something that DeLuca will have to tackle himself now that he and Meredith are in a relationship; he probably knows the extent of their friendship (he would be foolish not to), but it’s a little bit harder to contend with this sort of thing when it is staring you more in the face.
