NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 episode 16 video: Deeks’ mom & a wedding dance debate

Sunday night’s NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 episode 16 is a big one, and for a number of different reasons! For starters, there’s another case unfolding that could have deadly implications — and this one could have some important connections to modern-day society in that it involves a slain journalist. While we don’t think this show necessarily strives to be topical all the time, it does understand the importance of being able to live within the present. That’s what these characters do — they may not think about politics or headlines all the time, but it does still impact their lives and their jobs.

The majority of this article, though, isn’t exactly focusing on some of this — instead, it’s all about Deeks’ bar and Marty’s attempts to orchestrate a dance with his mother on his wedding day. As it turns out, this is not necessarily something that she is altogether interested in. Why doesn’t Mama Deeks want to move around on the dance floor? Well, she’s not your typical mom and she’s also not particularly fond of some of the song choices Deeks is throwing out here. We learn in this sneak peek that there are many more versions of “Forever Young” than we were initially aware of and, beyond just this, that all of them carry with them separate meanings.

It’s pretty easy why the character of Deeks’ mom works on this show — it actually feels relatable to many mother/son relationships out there! She is someone who does clearly love him, but she’s also set in her ways. She’s independent and goes by the beat of her own drummer and because of that, there is a ton of compromise that plays its way into this relationship. Sometimes, Deeks can’t quite get her to do everything that he wants her to do — he just has to settle for a middle ground. That may end up being the case here.

The most important thing to remember…

The Densi wedding is actually on the other side of the horizon! It’s a crazy thing to think about but following Sunday’s “Into the Breach,” the next episode (airing on March 17) will be the wedding! You’ve waited for so long in order to see it and finally, the big ceremony is going to be here. We imagine that it’s going to be sweet, sentimental, celebratory, and also probably action-packed because this is an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles and this show just can’t help itself.

Also, we’ve already reported that at least one person from Deeks’ past is going to rear his head over the course of this episode. Brace yourself for that, and brace yourself for said person to reign down some fury since they’re clearly going to be in wedding-crasher mode. No TV wedding, especially on a primetime network show, ever goes entirely according to plan.
