Blue Bloods season 9 episode 17 spoilers: Jamie takes on a corrupt officer

Blue Bloods season 9

Blue Bloods season 9 episode 17 is going to be the second one to air in the month of March, and there’s a chance that it could be the final one to air within the month of March. Because of the NCAA Tournament gumming up the schedule when we get to the end of the month, we gotta enjoy some of these episodes while we have them. Add to this the fact that there are only a select handful of episodes left in this 22-episode season, and that there isn’t an official season 10 renewal as of right now.

Let’s go ahead and make it clear though that we’re more then confident that there will be a season 10. We’ve just worked for too long within this television universe to ever take anything for granted until the ink dries.

So what is coming up in Blue Bloods season 9 episode 17? What makes it worth watching? We suggest that you take a look at the official synopsis that we have for you below:

“Two-Faced” – Frank’s longtime friend Lenny (Treat Williams) reveals to him that an upcoming exposé will air some of the NYPD’s dirty laundry. Also, Erin must decide how to charge a doctor whose experimental treatments led to the death of his terminally ill daughter; Danny and Baez investigate the mysterious overdose of a promising artist; and Jamie follows a lead about a corrupt officer in his precinct, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, March 15 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Let’s start with the Jamie story, given that we focused on him with the title of this article! Having a corrupt officer in the precinct is bad for a couple of different reasons. The obvious one is that someone who other officers are depending on is corrupt and doesn’t necessarily have your back. Maybe they are looking the other way on certain crimes or taking bribes. The second issue is that if Jamie knows that there’s a traitor in the midst and can’t find them, that reflects badly on him. That makes it look like he doesn’t know his own people and that his department as a whole are shady – one bad apple spoils the bunch whether everyone else is rotten or not. It doesn’t matter if it’s fair or unfair — perception is often reality, whether it be within the NYPD or any other world of law enforcement.

As for some of the other storylines, the one that is the most interesting is the return of Treat Williams as Lenny — he’s a man with his own checkered history, but it is nice for Frank to have someone he can communicate with outside of his typical social circles. It’s also going to be beneficial to him to know that such an expose is coming so he can figure out how to handle it … if he can handle it at all. While Frank may be smart and incredibly resourceful, he’s not capable of solving every problem. He has no superpower other than wisdom and a seat of power in the commissioner’s office.
