Is NCIS new tonight? Breaking down the Ziva – ‘She’ mystery

Unfortunately, the folks over at CBS are making you wait for a little while longer. There is no installment coming tonight, despite the original plan being for one to come on the air. The challenge here is that originally, there was going to be a new episode entitled “She” tonight, but that was delayed because of the State of the Union’s delay. That event was originally supposed to air a week ago but for a variety of reasons (well, too many to talk about here), that’s not how everything played out.
Hopefully, the wait for “She” is worth it since we’re gearing up for what could be very well the biggest episode of the entire season so far. Just conjuring up Ziva’s name is a good way to do it and since we are now firmly into sweeps it makes a good deal of sense why she would be brought up now.
One thing that we have to hope for is that the writers understand just how valued this character is to longtime fans. If there is going to be a discussion about this character, you want it to be one that is worthwhile — we’re hoping that this is an episode that adds something substantial and also another layer to the character’s legacy. We don’t want there to be some dark secret revealed that changes our perception or tarnishes her character. All we can say for certain is that Ellie Bishop discovers something in one of her old cases that becomes prevalent in the present — and it also just so happens that this case has some sort of unspecified past connection to Cote de Pablo’s character.
There are a couple of different mysteries to think about entering this episode, with the first one being tied to whatever this secret is. Meanwhile, the next one is whether or not it could lead to a larger secret, including the character’s “death.” We don’t expect the show to shake things up with a big reveal here, but we’ve long held the belief that she may still be alive. Remember that we never saw a body and in TV land – no body, no death seems to be the way of things, and sometimes we are shown a body and they still aren’t dead!
Waiting is often hard for a new NCIS episode, but it’s going to be even harder for this one.
