‘Downton Abbey’ season 3 spoilers: First video of episode 4

Just in case you have not had enough “Downton Abbey” after what was undoubtedly both a stunning and heartbreaking episode 3 on Sunday, we now have something new to share: a tiny hint of what happens next. If you stuck around at the very end of the episode, may have already seen this; otherwise, it is probably new to you.

So what do we know for sure is going to transpire based on this preview? Here are just a few notes:

1. Is Bates really considering just giving up? Based on some of his recent behavior behind bars, the implications are certainly there.

2. Someone is going to be the target of some heated comments about supposedly leaving a pregnant woman in another country…

3. Finally, the move by Matthew to invest into Downton Abbey is going to create some rather great confusion by some members of the staff. Even though Grantham has already made it clear of his desire for the two of them to be equals, Mary’s new episode still appears reluctant to have it be that way.

So what shall happen by the very end of this episode? The clear hope here is that we will have even more information when it comes to the hierarchy at the Abbey, and that we will also potentially learn about some elements that were not included in this promo, whether it be Edith’s current state of mind after being left at the altar or just how Mrs. Hughes is really feeling after trying her hardest to put on a good face.
