Blindspot season 4 episode 12 preview: The treasure hunt

Blindspot season 4

Next week, Blindspot season 4 episode 12 is going to be delivering an episode that, on paper, sounds awesome. We’d watch just about anything that has to do with a treasure hunt. Why wouldn’t we? It’s a TREASURE HUNT. There’s so much to like when it comes to this idea. You’re seeing characters head to a faraway place with a specific goal in mind — what makes this even better is that the two people heading to said faraway place are Patterson and Rich. These are not the two characters you commonly think of as action heroes. It’s a little bit of an atypical episode that way, and we anticipate that seeing all of this unfolding throughout the episode is going to be really fun.

Below, CarterMatt has the official Blindspot season 4 episode 12 synopsis with some more news as to what’s coming:

02/08/2019 (08:00 PM – 09:00 PM) (Friday): Patterson (Ashley Johnson) and Rich (Ennis Esmer) embark on a treasure hunt to Peru in a gambit to save Jane (Jaimie Alexander). Starring Sullivan Stapleton as Kurt Weller, Rob Brown as Edgar Reade and Audrey Esparza as Tasha Zapata. TV-14 L, V

So how are Jane, Weller, Reade, and some other characters going to be involved with this mission? One way or another, we have a feeling that they are going to be involved — it’d be pretty darn strange if they aren’t involved, given that these characters do have a tendency to be such an enormous part of every other story.

Yet, one of the most important things that you can do with a 22-episode show is making sure you find ways to utilize your full cast. You want to make sure that everyone gets an adequate amount of time in the spotlight. It makes the world feel more complete — also, it’s a way to show some great character development over time. It’s already super-fun that Rich Dotcom is so different from the guy we first met earlier this series. It’s a testament to what happens when the writers find a way to really lean into characters who they realize work well for them over time. We’re not sure that the plan was ever to feature him in the way that they have.

This episode of Blindspot will hopefully also find a way to resolve a few things when it comes to Jane, mostly due to the fact that we want to see her closer to her old self by the end of the season. That will give her more of an opportunity to shine if this does end up being the final season.
