What we’ve certainly come to know about Raymond over the years is strictly this — he is the sort of person who is always going to try to find some way to weave his way into a better position. It doesn’t matter if it’s behind bars or really anywhere else. Moving into “The Ethicist” (which is airing on February 8), this is something that we could see once more — another big-time Reddington scheme. We just have to wait and see if this is one that is going to end up working for him in some shape or form.

Below, CarterMatt does offer the official The Blacklist season 6 episode 6 synopsis with more news as to what’s coming up:

02/08/2019 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Friday) : When Red (James Spader) is sent to a federal medical institution following his request to the court for a psychiatric evaluation, Liz (Megan Boone) and Jennifer (guest star Fiona Dourif) use his time away to search for a Blacklister they believe may have valuable information about Red’s past. Ken Leung, Becky Ann Baker and LisaGay Hamilton also guest star.

What we’re going to see when it comes to Liz and Jennifer is simply this: Another attempt to see if they can get answers. The problem that they’re probably going to run into here is simply that Reddington has eyes and ears almost everyone. If they generate too much suspicion around themselves, there’s a pretty good chance that James Spader’s character is going to end up finding out about it. That’s something that they will have to be aware of throughout the entirety of this process. One wrong move could have great consequences.

Judging from the fact that Leung and Baker are both appearing in this episode, it’s pretty clear that Reddington’s legal drama is far from over. This medical-institution storyline could just be another way for him to show that he is unfit to stay in prison — maybe this is another way for him to get a leg up on the system.

No matter what happens in this episode, we feel like it’s going to be exciting — after all, this feels like a direct escalation of tension from everything we’ve had a chance to see so far.
