The Blacklist season 6 episode 5 video: Will Reddington get the recording?

Of course, we shudder to call this episode one with the biggest game-changer of the entire season, largely because it feels like we could apply that term to a number of different stories we’ve seen so far. Think in the following terms — over the course of this season already we’ve seen a number of shocking twists play out, including Reddington goes to prison and Liz being the reason why.
Yet, on this upcoming episode the existence of a possible recording is going to blow Liz Keen’s entire world. If Reddington hears the recording, he may know that she is the person responsible for selling him out. That’s super-bad news for her, since no one quite knows what Reddington would do upon hearing of this sort of betrayal. It’s something that may be super-difficult for him to deal with given that, at least in his mind, he’s done a lot for the sake of his daughter. It’s not going to be easy to handle the notion that he’s been lied to — but, we also have to recognize that Reddington probably was aware of the possibility of this long before the recording actually surfaced. We’re almost insulting Reddington’s intelligence if we were to say that this revelation would blindside him. This is a guy who is behind bars and has clearly had a lot of time to think. There are also probably a limited number of people who would’ve been able to orchestrate this based on their knowledge of approximately where he would be at this given time. It shouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for him that Liz could find out about him being an imposter and wanting to act on it.
We know based on what happened on this past episode that Liz and Jennifer do have a lead in their quest to finally learn the truth about the real identity of this man. Yet, how much time is she even going to have to pursue it? It’s hard to really focus on this sort of bombshell when she’s ducking and weaving through some more-present dangers that are staring her right in the face.
