Tonight, Demi more or less established herself as the villain of the season (in episode 2!), and for a number of different reasons. First, she pretended to snag the group-date rose in the middle of the date. It was brief, but at the same time it didn’t really seem like the biggest deal ever. Yet, Demi going on and on about how confident she was had a serious Courtney Robertson vibe to it — she was super-competitive, she was ready to do what it took, and that included coming up with this fantasy closet idea. She turned up in a robe before the Rose Ceremony, interrupted some of the other conversations, and also didn’t really seem to care all that much about hurting anyone’s feelings.

What Demi showed us tonight more than anything else is this: There’s a pretty huge difference between her in the confessional room and then her in front of the other women and Colton. She’s there to make waves, and there to stir things up.

As for some of the results…

Elyse got the first group date rose earlier in the night; meanwhile, Heather got the second on the strange summer-camp date. Meanwhile, Hannah Brown somehow managed to get one despite being a part of one of the more awkward one-on-one dates that we’ve seen.

This episode was all sorts of weird from start to finish, and we imagine that many of the women were surprised that both Catherine (who was a little more in the background tonight) and Demi both ended up getting the rose. We also saw Traci being super-upset and paranoid about possibly going home after she got upset over some of Demi’s antics. What happened? Well, Traci did end up getting the rose at the very end of the episode. For those of you who want drama, that’s a good thing for the next few weeks on the show.

We can’t say we’ll miss many of the people who were actually eliminated at the end of the episode, largely because of one thing: They were some of the less-memorable people. That happens every season.
