Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 12 video: Danny’s daughter Grace in crisis

Hawaii Five-0

As we approach Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 12 on CBS Friday night, there are a lot of options in the air for how the story could go. With Danny in particular, though, one prevailing notion reigns supreme: Fear.

If you saw our preview for this episode last night, then you know a thing or two about the foundation for this episode: A car accident involving Danny’s daughter Grace, one that lands her in serious condition. He and Rachel are going to struggle to deal with this while they also try to answer another important question: Why did this happen? While it’s possible that this is your everyday accident, within the world of Hawaii Five-0 there are very few things that we’d ever consider to be ordinary. There’s almost always another twist or another angle that few people see coming, and such could be the case here. It’s not unheard-of to think that someone has a grudge against Danny and goes after his daughter; we don’t want that for her sake, but we can’t rule it out.

As for whether or not this episode could represent Teilor Grubbs making her final appearance as Grace, we have some concern. Yet, we also are optimistic that she will make it through. For starters, Grubbs is not a regular on the show — with that, if the show ever needed to write the character out for a while there’s no need for them to do anything dramatic. They could always just say that she is off somewhere else, like at college over on the mainland. There’s no need to break Danny’s heart permanently, but we definitely have to consider it as something that could happen.

Expect an emotional story for Danny, with the most-difficult part of it presumably just being the waiting. He’s going to be left to deal with a helplessness of not knowing what to do when it comes to his daughter. He may look towards his badge as a way to help find some answers, but there aren’t any guarantees that this will even work for anything. Consider this an episode where you have to be prepared for anything, but personally, we’re going to keep our eyes towards a possible light at the end of the tunnel.
