Is Jai Courtney leaving Dutton Ranch, & is Rob-Will dead?
Is Jai Courtney leaving Dutton Ranch following the events of the season 1 finale? Have we really reached the end of the line for Rob-Will?
Well, based on what we saw close to the end of the installment tonight, it does feel fair to say that the answer here is yes. First, remember that Mariano ordered Joaquin to take out his brother. Then, the gunshot happened off-screen and we saw Joaquin after the fact. Technically, we never actually saw any specific person take Rob-Will out but if he did not do it, who else did?

Ultimately, for the time being we have to assume that this is the end for Courtney as the character. There was such a huge pool of blood under him as Oreana discovered him! The death of Rob-Will does also dramatically change things at the 10-Petal Ranch moving forward given that he was Beulah’s chosen successor. What does she do on the other side of this? That is a huge question that we do have to wonder at this point, and certainly for good reason.
Ultimately, losing a character like this is another reminder that with the greater Yellowstone universe, anyone can die at almost any given time. This is a death that radically alters a great deal, especially when you sit back and consider that Beulah, Oreana, and many other employees could see major changes in their lives now. Meanwhile, Beth and Rip have yet another problem to worry about, and this one is pretty darn bad: Carter has been kidnapped! This feels at this point like it will be their focus for not just the season 2 premiere, but a lot of everything that comes after the fact.
