Dutton Ranch season 2 officially sets new showrunner
We know that a Dutton Ranch season 2 is going to be coming to Paramount+ at some point down the line. Now, we also know who will be in charge behind the scenes!
According to a report from Deadline, Benjamin Cavell of SEAL Team / Justified fame will be the showrunner for the next batch of episodes. He is stepping in for Chad Feehan, who departed following the completion of season 1. This is ironically the second SEAL Team alum taking over a Yellowstone property as Spencer Hudnut (who showran the later seasons of the David Boreanaz show) is currently in charge over at Marshals.

Will there be any noticeable changes on Dutton Ranch as a result of this move? That is unlikely, mostly because there is no inherent need to radically change the Cole Hauser – Kelly Reilly series. Instead, the goal here is to most likely instill continuity from one season to the next so that the show can feel as fluid as it possibly can. You want it to certainly have twists and turns, but also within a framework that is reasonably established. If you can pull all of that off, we tend to think that it will be appreciated by everyone involved.
We will get more into when season 2 could premiere a little bit later in the week but for now, our general sentiment is that it is likely going to surface at some point moving into either the summer or fall of 2027. The greater Taylor Sheridan universe is good for having shorter turnarounds between seasons and based on where things stand right now, it feels like this is possible once more.
