Outlander season 4 episode 9 photos (part 1): Sam Heughan & Sophie Skelton

The most prominent of events coming into the episode has to be the meeting between Jamie and Brianna, something that was hyped up within the promo for Sunday’s installment. Of course, Starz isn’t so willing as to share photos of this particular meeting in advance, but you can see Brianna in the photo above potentially on her way to try and meet him. Judging from her facial expression, she could be looking right at him! This meeting has the potential to be a joyous one, though it does not exactly detract from the other crises that are going on in these characters’ lives. For Bree, she is still trying to cope with what happened to her at the hands of Stephen Bonnet; meanwhile, for Jamie he is having to tow the line between his oath to the Governor and his loyalty to Murtagh.
If nothing else, the meeting between Brianna and Jamie could signify to each one of them that they have someone else in their corner.
There is another key cog to the Brianna storyline that is worth mentioning here in Lizzie, who is the focus of this second image. Bree’s relatively-new servant wants to do her best to care for her, but we’re not sure that she is properly informed of all of the pertinent information. Last episode, she saw Bree and Roger talking outside before Roger pulled her away to an unknown destination. When Lizzie saw Bree later in the episode, she had been the victim of an assault. Unless Bree tells Lizzie otherwise, she is going to think that Roger is the responsible party. Why wouldn’t she? She’s just doing her best to look after Brianna, but this miscommunication could spell some dire consequences for Roger in this episode.
This final image of Jamie does not necessarily give away much, but it is worth including simply because Starz doesn’t often release too many up-close photos of Sam Heughan or any other cast members. While it was taken in the moment of the episode, it’s actually reminiscent in some ways of when the network released official cast portraits during the earlier seasons. This is a Jamie photo that could be somewhat-timeless for promotional purposes.
