Outlander season 4 episode 9 promo: Jamie, Brianna’s big moment

Obviously, the moment that everyone will be talking about after watching the promo is Jamie saying “do you have a message for me, lass?” upon seeing Brianna for the first time. While Jamie has seen pictures of his daughter, the idea of seeing her in person is probably never even on his mind! With that, it makes a certain degree of sense that he would not recognize her upon actually seeing her in the present.
As for how Brianna finds Jamie, she learns that he is in the city and because time is of the essence, she rushes in order to find him — even in the midst of recovering from her assault from this past episode. Lizzie encourages her to take things slowly, but with the stakes being what they are at the moment, this is not something that she is even thinking about. This marks an opportunity for her to warn Jamie about the fire that could claim he and Claire’s life; what she does after that, meanwhile, remains to be seen.
Beyond just this, the promo indicates that Roger will have a journey of his own. He does not want to continue alongside Bonnet and his crew to their final destination, but the problem he is running into here is Bonnet himself. Do you really think he’s going to be so keen to let Roger go? These two have a fascinating dynamic that will be explored further — it’s worth noting that Roger seems to have no awareness of what’s happened between Bonnet and Bree. If he did, odds are he would try to attack him on sight.
Yet, there are all sorts of reasons to be concerned for Roger’s future. Not only is there the issue of what’s happening with Bonnet, but we also do worry that Lizzie, following Brianna’s assault, may try to report him as the assailant. After all, he is the only man that Lizzie saw her with and this misunderstanding could prove to have extremely dire consequences … if it even happens this way.
This new episode, entitled “The Birds & the Bees,” will air on Starz come Sunday, December 30.
