Even though The Big Bang Theory may not be returning on CBS until the new year, that isn’t stopping the network from teasing it in advance!

In the video below, you can see what is effectively the beginning of an epic paintball battle between a number of the main characters of note within this show. Penny and Denise are the two captains, and that gives them to oh-so-difficult task of trying to pick the right people to be on their teams. As you would imagine, some hilarity ensues on the other side of this.

For starters, Leonard finds himself in a position that he has not exactly been in for most of his life — actually being first for something. Meanwhile, Stuart is surprised that he is even picked at all …. though it’s pretty clear that there was no other choice at that point.

On the surface, it’s pretty clear that there is a lot of fun stuff to like with this particular episode. For starters, some of the best The Big Bang Theory episodes are the ones where a lot of the characters all take part in some sort of group activity. This one may be even better than most because it is something that is somewhat-physical in nature, and it also will cause all of them to show off a little bit more of their competitive side.

Yet, you have to imagine that this is going to end in disaster … right? It’s hard to imagine anything else transpiring here. Sooner or later, we imagine someone getting too competitive in the midst of all of this paintball and that leading to some sort of major argument or painful revelation that reverberates through the rest of the episode. Given that we’re closing in on the halfway point of the final season, we like to think that the majority of the episodes left are all going to be big ones. This is a chance for the writers to pull some stuff off that they have been wanting to do for a long time, and for them to really go big and bold. We want this to be an informative episode, but to go along with that, we’re also just hoping that it’s fun. The more laughs that we get, the better we’ll feel entering the home stretch.
