Miss Universe 2018: Was Catriona Gray, Tamaryn Green, Sthefany Gutiérrez winner?

Miss Universe

Who won Miss Universe 2018: Catriona Gray, H’Hen Niê, Kiara Ortega, or someone else at the end of the broadcast? In this article, we’re going to have all sorts of updates on this subject.

At the moment, though, we do have to say that this feels like the year of the underdog. Remember here that leading in the show, there was controversy about what Miss USA, Miss Australia, and Miss Colombia had to say on social-media about Miss Vietnam Niê and her ability to speak English. Well, she made it to the top five, and none of the other three did. Is that karma, or just the result of the judging? We’ll leave that to you in order to properly decide.

As for the rest of the top 5, you have Gray (Miss Philippines, one of the biggest countries in the world for beauty pageants), Ortega (Miss Puerto Rico, another incredible story), Tamaryn Green (Miss South Africa), and then also Sthefany Gutiérrez (Miss Venezuela, another popular pageant country). There were a lot of great stories in here, and we certainly do love that there is so much diversity within the final group.

Top 3 Results – Despite them being a great story, unfortunately Ortega and Niê  were eliminated. The top three were Mis Philippines, Miss South Africa, and Miss Venezuela — one of them would get the opportunity in order to properly represent the world moving forward.

The Winner – Catriona Gray! Miss Philippines has come out on top again, which should make a good percentage of the country’s huge fanbase thrilled. Gray was one of the most high-profile contestants entering the pageant and the best thing about her being crowned the winner is that she may be able to inspire a larger group of people in a country that idolizes Miss Philippines winners. She has the potential now to do a great bit of good and we certainly hope that she does just that. The Philippines is a country full of people who dream and fight to make them into a reality. Now, they have yet another person to look up to.

For those wondering, Miss South Africa ended up posting second place.
