As confirmed below by show executive producer Joe Henderson, the first three seasons of the Tom Ellis series have officially made their way onto the streaming service in the United States! This has been a long time coming, and we’ve certainly heard from many people who were eager to actually get the show on there after Netflix saved it. There were of course licensing issues that had to be worked out but apparently, all of that is now in the rear-view mirror.

Over the past several weeks, we have started to see things transition in a way where Lucifer was starting to be more under the Netflix umbrella. The official Twitter account, which was once attached to Fox, is now attached to the streaming service. This, to go along with the recent end of season 4 filming, suggests that we’re going to see Lucifer find its way online in a reasonably short amount of time. It won’t be in the next few weeks, but we’re hoping that come this spring, there is a chance to see new episodes. It comes down first and foremost to when post-production on the episodes is complete. Beyond that, the ball is in Netflix’s court in order to figure the rest out.

The timing for Lucifer arriving on Netflix certainly could not be better, given the fact that we are in the midst of the holiday season now and this is typically a time in which major networks are not putting out a lot of programming. Basically, there’s no reason now to avoid watching or re-watching the show, especially since the episodes go by in a blink. We’re hoping that this is a way to officially convert some new fans to longtime viewers by the time season 4 premieres.

Just a reminder…

When season 4 does arrive on the service, the best thing that you can do in order to fully support it is to both watch early and also watch often — Netflix likes to see that the majority of the people who start a season finish it, and we also do think that social-media buzz is something else that they strongly consider. They want to be able to know that their shows are making a splash and making it rather quickly.
