NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 episode 10 video: A case … and a dress code?

NCIS: Los Angeles

After a brief hiatus, it appears as though NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 episode 10 is airing on CBS this week. To go along with that, it feels like a familiar theme is going to surface: New powers-that-be trying to oversee the team. How often is that happening these days? It feels almost like we’re being a broken record trying to point it out time and time again. This time around, Special Prosecutor John Rogers is going to be overseeing things … and it already seems as though he has complaints.

In the sneak peek below, you can see Rogers list out some of his assorted grievances when it comes to the NCIS: Los Angeles team, which apparently stems from their dress code to the amount of time that they spend at the gym. (What’s wrong with that? Given how physical this job seems to be, it feels almost like a great thing that Sam, Callen, Deeks, and Kensi are constantly trying to stay in shape.) Rogers is apparently out to ensure that everyone stays on the ball and that there isn’t any tomfoolery going on … but really, this just feels like yet another attempt by some bigwigs to ensure that they can regulate the heck out of NCIS, especially since there’s a tendency for rogue missions and the like this team.

We just hope that there is some stability here soon enough — we’ll be happy to see Hetty back whenever Linda Hunt is fully recovered from her car accident this past summer.

As for the case…

Given that the title here is “Heist,” that gives you a sense of some of what’s coming. A big heist job is at the center of this episode, and there is almost immediately a part of our brain that likes to picture some of these characters as a result of that becoming a part of an Ocean’s Eleven style thriller. That may not prove to be the case, but more so than anything we’re crossing our fingers and hoping for something that looks and feels a little bit different than anything else that NCIS: Los Angeles has executed so far this season. Variety really is the spice of life here, and the more that the show can mix it up while giving us great personal stories, the better off it will be as a whole.
