Blue Bloods season 9 episode 9: The mystery of Nicky’s boyfriend

After a short hiatus Blue Bloods season 9 episode 9 is coming up on CBS on Friday, and one of the biggest things to ponder over right now has to do with Nicky. We haven’t had much in the way of a big storyline for her at all this season, but this episode could be in part a way to change that.

The photo HERE (via CBS’ official Twitter for the series) gives you a small peek at the relationship between Sami Gayle’s character and her new beau, but also raises an important question to go along with it. What are his real intentions when it comes to being with her? Does he love her, or is he out for something else to go along with it? We do think that there are some alternate explanations that you could come up with here if you really wanted to as to why he would want to be in the relationship, whether it be him thinking that he can move forward in his career with her or if he wants to just have a girlfriend for the sake of having one. The truth here is that Nicky is related to a lot of powerful people, whether it be the police commissioner of New York City or someone very high up in the District Attorney’s office. If he is out for some sort of pass up the career ladder, though, what he’s not realizing is that the Reagans are not the sort of family who will just hand him a golden ticket. He’ll have to work for his career advancement in more or less the same way everyone else does, and that means tackling a wide array of different highs and lows.

Hopefully, CBS is going to resolve the mystery of Nicky’s boyfriend at some point before the end of the season, largely because it would be rather-nice to move the show forward onto some other topics, whether they be associated to her or someone else. What we’re actually the most interested in seeing with this character is what her own career path could be, especially if she ends up being in law enforcement in some capacity or becomes an attorney with the DA. (Wouldn’t it be funny if she actually ended up become a defense attorney in some capacity? Just a thought…)
