Ink Master season 11 episode 13 video: Prepare for a team challenge!

Ink Master

Tomorrow night Ink Master season 11 episode 13 will arrive on the Paramount Network and the stakes are certainly high. There are only six contestants left, and with Cleen Rock One only having two remaining artists, we feel like he may be feeling the heat more than ever. The good news, though, is that he’s got two really component artists on his team in Tiffer Wright and also Tony Medellin.

In the sneak peek below, we do have a good sense as to what is coming up — at least for the first challenge! Both Cleen and Christian Buckingham are both going to tattoo alongside their teams. The theme here is versatility, and basically they each need to create something representing power.

On paper, we do think that Cleen’s team has an advantage in this challenge. With there being fewer artists on his team, there’s a little less of a too-many-cooks factor here. There are also fewer people who are working on the tattoo as a whole and that could mean fewer contrasting styles. Yet, Cleen seemed to be at a loss in the planning phase as to how to precisely do a tattoo representing power. We thought he would be in trouble, but then we also saw that Christian’s team was equally slow in their development. Chris Shockley seems to be especially annoyed with how much time everyone else was taking leading up to the tattoo being done.

You could see the completed designs as the thumbnail in the video below and just based on that alone, we are probably going to have to side with Team Cleen on the design and the style of it. While Team Christian seems to be going for a “knowledge is power” approach, Cleen’s design just feels bolder and a little more suiting what the original ask was for the challenge. Also, they seem to have worked together better, whereas on Team Christian there was clearly a lot of conflict with Chris being at the center of much of it. This episode could be the one where everything comes to a full boil. We get where he’s coming from, given that he seems to be a really driven guy and has some big aspirations for what he wants his career to look like after the show, including when it comes to getting his own tattoo shop. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to win, but doesn’t realize that sometimes, the best move to make is to fall into the background and just be a good teammate. He is a talented guy, though, and as of right now he’s probably the second-strongest artist Christian has behind Teej Poole.
