Game of Thrones star Kit Harington (finally) cuts his hair

We now have one of the truest signs of all that Game of Thrones has come to a close — after all, Kit Harington has cut his hair!

In a new post on Twitter, a fan was able to uncover a new look for the actor, one that shows Harington with a shorter haircut and also a full mustache. This marks a chance for Kit to slowly separate himself from Jon Snow, especially since he had to have his hair done in a very-specific way on the HBO series for many years. Given that Jon didn’t exactly have many chances to visit a barber, there wasn’t exactly all that much of an opportunity for Kit to go off and do something different with his hair during the show’s run.

So why did he keep it for so long after the end of production? There was a time in which he needed to still have it just in case of re-shoots or some other stuff behind the scenes. You always have to be prepared for anything in the TV business but now, he can start to move forward.

We imagine that for Kit, Emilia Clarke, and virtually every other cast member on Game of Thrones, the world really is their oyster and they can choose to do virtually anything and everything that they want. That includes movies for many of them, but we wouldn’t be shocked if most of them eventually find their way back to television in due time. This is where there are going to be so many opportunities consistently for them!

If there is one show in which we don’t expect any of them, it is the upcoming prequel series that is taking place long before the flagship show. We expect that show to be very much of its own creation, largely with its own cast — even if a part of it is in the same world. We aren’t going to see the prequel series more than likely until we get around to 2020, but we certainly don’t think it’s wrong to start putting a little bit of a focus on it now. It’s just hard to say too much when there are so few details out there about it as a whole.

For now, Kit Harington getting a haircut is really everything that we need to know in regards to the show moving forward. We’re just at that point where everyone has to start to turn the page and prepare a little more for what lies ahead in the future.
