The Conners spoilers: Katey Sagal set to appear in upcoming episode

In a new post on Twitter, former Married … with Children star Katey Sagal confirmed that she is going to be appearing in an upcoming episode. While some of the specifics regarding her future appearance remain to be seen, you can see presumably a photo of her on set below. This is a way for her to honor some of her comedy roots — while there have been some discussions out there about her former show being revived, we’re not actually sure that you could bring it back. How would Married … with Children really work in 2018?
Since wrapping up her recent series-regular roles on the likes of Sons of Anarchy, Superior Donuts, and then The Bastard Executioner, Sagal has been more or less all over the place. She has appeared in a number of episodes of Shameless, appeared on The Big Bang Theory, and even stopped by Mayans MC for a brief cameo in her role as Gemma.
One of the good things about doing a show like The Conners, beyond of course the appeal of working with John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, and Laurie Metcalf, is that you can potentially set yourself up either for a new comedy in pilot season or also potentially a return down the line. We know that Katey is the sort of actress who’s going to have a new full-time TV gig virtually the moment that she wants it, so we hope that there is an opportunity that presents itself to her sooner rather than later. (The Conners will be there for more down the road, provided of course it gets renewed for another season.)
The next new episode of The Conners is coming onto ABC on Tuesday night and with that, we imagine that more of what you love about this show will be here soon. We do think that if it wants to keep its ratings momentum, there is a lot of merit to continually bringing on board different performers who all bring with them their own degree of comedic know-how. It generates a lot of publicity, to go along of course with opportunities to create something different (and hopefully fun) with the story.
