Elseworlds promo: What is Alex Danvers doing to Kara?

Elseworlds

Tonight, The CW has unveiled the latest Elseworlds promo, and this one features Kara and Alex Danvers. Yet, with that being said, this is a very different sort of look at the two of them than we’re used to.

In the new promo below, you can see Alex (now sporting longer hair!) locking up Kara, saying that she was “clearly crazy” and didn’t want to buy much of what she was being told. Judging from at least the way that Kara is talking here, it does not feel as though Alex is aware that she has a sister in this world. She also doesn’t seem to be altogether keen to listen to any sort of arguments suggesting otherwise.

So how will this crossover come about? There is still SO much room for a lot of different theories here! With this one, the prevailing theory that we have here is that in this world, Kara is almost an outsider to her own life. Nobody seems to know who she is or what she represents. As for how she ended up here, that remains to be seen. Yet, in every single Elseworlds promo that we’ve seen something feels very amiss and the main characters are very much outside of their element. That is probably a part of the fun here — every single person within the cast has a chance to do something that’s a little bit different from anything that they’ve done before and there’s some excitement that comes with that.

When it comes to Supergirl-related surprises in particular, what we know entering the crossover event is that you will meet Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane for the first time! Beyond that, there is also going to be an opportunity to see a Black Suit version of Superman. Supergirl will also eventually be interacting with Ruby Rose and her character of Batwoman, but how that comes about does remain to be seen.

Supergirl is actually going to be the final part of the Elseworlds event, as it will be airing on a different night in Tuesday (see the graphic above). Yet, in order to properly understand precisely what is going on here, you really need to watch all three episodes. (Unfortunately, Legends of Tomorrow isn’t a part of it this time, though it feels in some way like just about every single episode of the show is in another world — it’s going to be just fine, and it feels like there is definitely some weird, wacky stuff coming up there a little bit later this season. It doesn’t need a crossover for that!)
