The new teaser we have for you below offers you up a small sight of Shane West as Eduardo Dorrance, who is going to be the series’ version of the Batman villain. He’s still very much an early iteration, hence why the mask itself seems to be somewhat of a prototype. More than likely, this season is going to offer you up a chance to see how Bane first came to be the villain that he is, which is one of the things that this series does the best. It has given you a number of fascinating, twisted origin stories to some of the most iconic batman villains of all time and we certainly do not think that this is going to be stopping before the series finale airs.

This teaser does give you a few reminders of some other villains as well, whether it be Riddler or, of course, the return of the fantastic Cameron Monaghan as Jeremiah, a man who possesses at least some elements of the Joker from the comics. This is a ruthless, maniacal character who will try to do just about everything that he can to cause a little bit of chaos — and odds are, he will succeed in some of it given what we have seen already.

So what else is coming? We discuss some of that in a recent article over here, but at the center of this season should be an opportunity to learn about how Bruce Wayne makes the decision to continue down the road towards becoming Batman. He’s going to be facing a city in peril, and a city on the verge of ruin, in the premiere. This is a place desperately in need of a hero, but other than the GCPD, there are not going to be many others willing to step up and take care of a city that has some of the worst of the worst. Instead, you have people like Oswald who are just positioning themselves to have power, and then also those like Jeremiah who just want to destroy and find a way to have control over whatever is left standing. Bane’s motivations are at the moment unclear, but as with many other villain, it is fair to say that there are probably some very specific reasons why he is doing what he is.
