There is no new installment of the Matt Czuchry – Emily VanCamp series coming up on the air tonight, and quite possibly the strangest thing about it is that there is no clear reason for it. This may just be a case of Fox wanting to save some more episodes for a little while later so they have some other opportunities to see stories make waves down the road. They may just want to push the fall portion of the series closer to the holidays — after all, when temperatures cool off, that tends to mean that viewership for many shows starts to expand. When it’s that cold out what better way to warm up than sit down and watch some great television?
While you wait for some new episodes of The Resident to come on the air, we thought that it may be best to share a handful of teases for what you can expect to see coming up.
Devon’s wedding – The plan is for the writers to get to this part of the story by the end of the year, but there is no guarantee that it is actually going to happen. For starters, don’t you think that his fiancée will be upset about all of the time that Julian is spending around him, let alone if she finds out that the two kissed? Secrets rarely ever stay hidden on TV and because of that, you have to assume that this is going to come out in due time. It’s really more of a question of when more so than if in this case.
Mina and AJ – Is there a deeper relationship blossoming here? It is probably too early to label it romantic, but clearly we have seen AJ start to recognize more of her value as a doctor and as a person. That’s a stepping stone, at the very least, to a larger partnership.
The medical-device drama – This thread has been bubbling underneath the surface for some time as Julian’s company, seemingly unbeknownst to her, has been buying off doctors and hospitals around the Atlanta area and giving great benefits to the medical directors who work with her. These are not the sort of practices that all doctors will like, so what happens in the event said doctors find out about them?
