For most of the first part of the season, Antonio’s story has been bubbling somewhat under the surface. He’s going through a good bit in that his sister recently moved away, his personal life is pretty unstable, and he is also trying to wrestle with a potential pill addiction. There have already been some signs of significant trouble here for him, most notably that there isn’t anyone that knows that he’s struggling.. He has no support system or way to check himself if he falls too hard into the abyss. All of this seems like a recipe for disaster that could eventually culminate on one of the most difficult situations of his entire life. This certainly could impact his health in his everyday life, but beyond that it could directly impact his performance in the field. Given that so many decisions Intelligence makes are life-and-death and on-the-fly, it’s not all that hard to figure out why this could be life-threatening even for him or someone close to him.
Chicago PD is biding its time to give Jon Seda a showcase, but it feels like they’ve got the perfect way to deliver that early next month. For a little more insight, check out the Chicago PD season 6 episode 9 synopsis below:
12/05/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : In an attempt to dig himself out of a hole and save someone close to him, Antonio (Jon Seda) crosses a line that puts the entire team at risk.
What is perhaps the most-noteworthy thing about this to us is that Antonio is not typically the sort of person who tends to break the rules. He’s all about the letter of the law and finding the right thing to do that doesn’t endanger people. All of this is extremely atypical for him, which is why you do have wonder if there is something further going on here that is especially troublesome … more than we even know. This episode has to be enough in order to sustain you through an extremely long hiatus, and with that in mind we hope that it delivers a compelling cliffhanger (even if it is a dark one) that keeps us talking through the months the show is off the air.
Do we want updates on some other characters, including Ruzek and Upton? Sure, but it feels like there is time to explore them further down the line.
